Sorry! Posted: 01/29/10 @ 03:18 PM
I know not too many people read this, but those that were were expecting a continuation from the Xbox vs PS3 blog. I didn't realize how busy I was going to be working on a project of mine as well as a payed project for a client. Not to mention a load of school work to pile on top of that! So I've been fairly busy working on my latest project, www.SeekVibes.com, and so far I am very pleased with the work I have put into it. Hopefully one day, it'll be come something big. Until then, I will be working and working on it! Anyway, I may not get another blog post about the console war until next month. Thanks for waiting!
Brodeur Poster Posted: 01/12/10 @ 06:57 PM
Over the past few weeks, I've gone ahead and whipped up a Martin Brodeur poster for my room. It's nothing too special, but I thought I would share it with you guys. Let me know what you think. It's available for show over at my full portfolio. In other news, I will be adding another Xbox vs PS3 blog post in a couple of days. Finally, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am back attending online classes over at UAT (University of Advancing Technology). This will be my last online semester, then I will be heading out the Tempe, Arizona to continue my education.
Smackdown: Xbox 360 VS PS3 Posted: 01/12/10 @ 02:40 AM
Fanboys from all across the globe have argued which ones better throughout the years of their existence. Now, I'll finally get on the wagon and give you my two sense. Writing this blog, I have no favor in either system, however, I do own both systems. Also, I will let you know, that I play NHL 10 on both systems, about once a week, other than that I don't use the systems for gaming.

Now, on to the battle. In round one of this intense battle, we'll start with something simple: the controllers. Playstation 3 went with another updated version of the dual shock 2 and 1. They're really taking advantage of that patent, because it's been the same for far too long, and does not fit my hand with comfort anymore. However, the Xbox 360 controller was improved, and overall, I like the feeling of it in my hand compared to a PS3 controller. Although the Xbox 360 might be too big for younger kids, the PS3 does not suit most of those in college. I do, however, give an advantage to the PS3's rechargeable battery situation. Xbox 360 controllers do support rechargeable batteries, but its another 50 bucks on top of the already expensive controllers. (This may have dropped since I bought one, so don't hold me to this price.) Though, there are advantages to having a simple double-A battery system. For one, I don't have to run over and plug in my controller every time the battery dies, I can simply replace the batteries. This is helpful because of the short length of the recharge data wire that came with the PS3. Overall, I'm going to go with Xbox 360's controllers in this round.

In the second round, we'll be discussing the consoles themselves. The Xbox 360 is fairly larger than a PS3 slim; however, both systems will not fit nicely with other components. Both systems have ease of access to USB ports, two on each console in the front. Both systems have HDMI outputs on the back, as well as an ethernet port, and different versions of multi-outputs (as expected). One thing I do like is the third USB connection on the Xbox 360, which the PS3 didn't include. Though, one thing the Xbox 360 lacks is the ability to have HDMI video output and optical audio output simultaneously, due to the fact that the optical audio output is on the multi-output converter. Finally, the power supply is one of the biggest killers of the Xbox 360. Not only do you have to hide an enormous, ugly, gray box, but the box is outrageously heavy! The power supply is built into the PS3, with a simple switch on the back of the console. In this round, the PS3 knocks Xbox 360 out of the park with it's simple, sleek, and efficient design.

Before we go on to another round, I'll simply give a point to the Xbox 360, because of the fact that we can modify them! We can backup our games whenever we feel like it.

In the first part of this blog entry, we've come to a two to one victory in favor of Xbox 360. I will post another entry later on this month discussing games, media centers, guis, graphics, as well as some more rounds.
